JOB DESCRIPTION

Shingle Inn City Hall has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Café Supervisor to lead a team and work within a well-established national café brand.

Established in 1936, Shingle Inn has built upon its reputation for excellence, becoming a beloved cafe chain that proudly continues its dedication to exceeding customers expectations.

We are looking for a passionate team member to join our friendly team. This is a great opportunity for you to showcase your love of great customer service, coffee and leadership skills. 

Job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Maintaining an exceptionally high standard of customer service
  • Ensuring quality control is maintained on all food and drink products
  • Maintain and implement marketing campaigns, displays and sales techniques
  • Cash management including reconciliations & banking
  • Stock control and conducting monthly stock-take
  • Maintaining strong team motivation and ongoing team training & development
  • Adhering to and monitoring Workplace Health and Safety standards
  • Manage daily operational needs including food costs, wage costs & other expenses

To be successful, you will:

  • Be committed to delivering exceptional customer service and exceeding your customers expectations
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Café Supervisor
  • Strong Barista skills and all-rounder skills
  • Have demonstrable skills in leading and motivating a team
  • Have a passion for great coffee, great food and great service - and love working as part of a team!
  • Be available across a 7-day roster

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, 28-35 hours per week

Salary: Up to $25.00 per hour

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Supervisor experience in leading a team in a customer-centric environment
  • Willingness to undertake all aspects of role - food preparation, barista service, FOH
  • Well-presented to meet the dress code expectations of customers
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in cafes, 6 months minimum as supervisor
  • Interest in undertaking a training certificate
