We are seeking a capable and suitably experienced professional to join The Hotel Britomart in the position of part time Night Porter with full-time and part-time opportunities available.

Reporting to the Guest Services Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the hotel during nights, be able to understand financial systems and procedural driven.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist guests with their luggage, delivery of guest messages and any other special requirements that they may have.
• Ensure that individual guests, groups, and customers are welcomed warmly, greeted by name wherever possible.
• Be responsible for the safe handling and storage of all guest luggage.
• Perform valet parking duties as directed.
• Monitor and maintain the dispatch and delivery of guest laundry, dry cleaning, and parcels.
• Program and execute wake-up calls, collect room service breakfast orders, and get KAWAKAWA tea preparation done.
• Take room service orders and make room service deliveries.
• Conduct regular security checks of the hotel, both externally and internally when directed.
• Maintain a tidy, clean, and orderly appearance in all hotel areas.
• Ensure guest security and privacy is always maintained.
• Perform any other reasonable task or instruction as directed by management or a representative of management.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A proven performance record with at least one to two years’ experience in a similar position
• Porter experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• A natural ability of being very detailed and organised, able to understand our hotel systems and procedures.
• The tenacity to thrive in a fast-paced performance driven environment – you not only meet performance targets, but you exceed them with passion
• Fantastic problem-solving skills – you must be prepared to take each day as it comes and bring a growth mindset to everything you do
• A great sense of style and immaculate presentation and grooming
• Full New Zealand Drivers License
• Availability to work night shifts
