JOB DESCRIPTION

The Parnell Hotel & Conference Centre has accommodation rooms, Gladstones Restaurant Café & Bar and Conference Centre, with kitchen facilities to cater for our guests and conference clients.  The hotel is situated on 3.5 acres in the inner-city suburb of Parnell, Auckland.

We are currently recruiting for the position of Kitchenhand. This position is for a minimum of 30 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours as required.


We are seeking an experienced person who is passionate about food and takes great pride in their presentation. You should have innovation and flair, pay meticulous attention to detail and have the ability to work well in a busy environment, as well as work unsupervised.
 

Your daily job involves:

  • Assisting Chef with food preparation & short order food items
  • Making cabinet food
  • Kitchen and equipment cleaning
  • Dish washing

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Experience working in a busy conference and a la carte environment
• Flexibility with shifts, including weekends.
• Customer driven focus
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures and food safety standards

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this position you must be a citizen or permanent resident in New Zealand, or hold a current Open Work Visa, valid for a minimum period of 12 months.
