JOB DESCRIPTION

HEAD CHEF or SOUS CHEF

Come and join the fiesta on the beautiful Kapiti Coast. We are a fun and vibrant Mexican street food eatery in the heart of the Kapiti Coast. If you know the difference between a Jalapeno and Chipotle, we want to hear from you!

We are looking for experienced and passionate Head Chef. This is a full-time role with 35-45 hours available. The position reports directly to our Restaurant Manager and General Manager. This role is suitable for someone with ongoing head chef experience but also someone who has relevant experience in a Mexican restaurant and wants to take the next step in their career.  Come and be part of a great team!

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Commis Chef
Executive Chef
Head Chef
Sous chef

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

MUST HAVES

·Passionate about food, consistent and methodic

·Proactive and energetic

·Previous experience in a similar role

·Great attention to detail and time management.

·Strong communication and organizational skills.

·Strong knowledge of food safety practices and health and safety regulations.

·Full New Zealand driver’s license.

·The right to work in New Zealand.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

·Overseeing all our food coming out at the restaurant standard & training staff

·Food Safety and Health and Safety

·Ensuring all recipes are followed consistently

·Invoicing

·Ordering goods

·Stock take

·Supervising kitchen staff
