JOB DESCRIPTION

Fraser Park Sportsville is a multi-functional facility in the heart of the Hutt Valley which opened in March 2019.  It is a key regional facility that not only supports the local community and region in hosting programme’s, initiatives and events but have the ability to host national events on site. There will be conferences, meetings, functions etc where you will work in with the café to deliver the clients requirements.

The facility includes 6 squash courts, indoor activity zone, social spaces, meeting rooms, outdoor floodlit rugby/football turf and softball diamond, café, restaurant and bar.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate Chef/Cook person to work in our Bar/Restaurant and catering for our corporate clients.   If you are up for an exciting challenge then we want to meet you. You will need to control stock purchases and dealing with suppliers.

The successful applicant must be able to provide excellent food service to our client base. You must be able to maintain a primary focus of fostering an on-going positive working relationship with the staff and customer base alike, while helping to maximize sales and profitability.. You will be expected to lead by example and have a cool and calm manner during the busy period. You will be required to provide this service promptly, in a cheerful and professional manner and recognise the client’s needs are the highest priory at all times. At all times understanding the importance of promoting the facility in a positive manner, ultimately, you will ensure the customer enjoys their experience.

Our Bar/kitchen is open Tuesday, Wed, Thurs – 5 – 9 p.m.  Friday 4 – close.  Sat 12 – close; Sunday 4 – close.

Applicants for this positive should have NZ residency or valid NZ work visa.


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

  • Have 3+ years experience in a similar role.
  • Stock Ordering and Control
  • Highly organised and reliable.
  • Personable with a positive attitude and flexible.
  • Be comfortable and calm working under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Produce a high standard of food while maintaining standards required.
  • Be able to work weekends.
  • Understand and practise a high standard of food hygiene.
  • Commitment and excellent work ethic essential.
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently with a hands-on approach.
  • Mastery in multi-tasking.
  • Customer-oriented and service-minded.
  • Excellent Spoken & Reading Communication skills
