JOB DESCRIPTION

We are part of the Double Dribble Hospitality Group includes: Sushi Soldier & Eightgrains (Little High), Midnight Shanghai, Ramen Ria, Gelato & Tea (Riverside Market), Riverside Cantina Bar & Functions Space, Table of Munchies in Merivale and our Central Grains Prep Kitchen & Warehouse and Dose Diner. We specialise in modern cuisine, western Asian cooking techniques, and traditional Asian flavours, our globally experienced team hails from more than 10 nationalities.

We are searching for a Senior Sous / Kitchen Manager for our small and busy Eightgrains in Little High.

Any successful candidates will:

  • Be able to handle the stress in a fast paced restaurant and keep things in order especially in a small space with busy service.
  • Be honest, reliable, communicate well, and coordinate prep and service with our awesome kitchen and FOH crew, you will definitely need the ability to adapt.
  • Sole responsibility for the kitchen, full kitchen prep, stock take and take a senior role in managing other staff
  • 3 plus years experience in a commercial kitchen, ideally here in New Zealand
  • Menu design and recipie crafting, training and development of junior chefs
  • Positive attitude to learn and take more responsibilities, be organised in a team environment

All applicants must have current NZ Residence or Right to work.
