JOB DESCRIPTION

If you are an experienced chef wanting stamp your mark in the hospitality industry, we've got an oppotunity for you!!

After a 14 month complete rebuild and fit out of our newly crafted eatery/bar on the site of the Old Post and Telegraph Office in Patumahoe, South Auckland, we are now looking for high energy, motivated experienced chefs who aren't afraid to challenge the industry norms. You must be a true team player, calm under pressure, have a strong work ethic when called upon but ultimately enjoy what you do!

'Mr Henry' is located in the heart of the rural village of Patumahoe (5 minutes from Pukekohe and 35 min to Auckland City centre). Sitting on the edge a council reserve, overlooking the Patumahoe Rugby Club and boasting exceptional outdoor dining and garden bar, 'Mr Henry' creates an extrememly desirable work environment.

Accomodation may be available to the right applicant

Bar staff, Duty Managers also required

 


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Bartender
Chef de Partie
Executive Chef
Head Chef
Sous chef

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

You have a minimum 2 years chef experience

You would like to build on a successful career in the hospitality industry

You are a real team player. Calm under pressure but a strong work ethic when required

You get a buzz from working hard and getting great results

You display a high level of attention to detail, initiative and drive to complete tasks to the highest standard

You have exceptional leadership and communication skills

You are an excellent problem solver

You are commited to working during peak hours, including evenings, weekends (generally Wednesday-Sunday)

  The core of the role:

  • Lead the development of new and enticing menu offerings
  • Ensure that recipes and proportions are strictly adhered to, to ensure consistency, quality, and cost control
  • Keep the kitchen running smoothly during service
  • Follow the Food Control Plan
  • Ensure good roster management
  • Handle stock ordering like a pro
  • Assist in recruitment
  • Focus on staff development and training
  • Ensure the establishment is clean and tidy at all times
  • Ensure Health and Safety is met at all levels
  • Represent 'Mr Henry' with honesty, energy, enthusiasm and lead in developing an exceptional work culture
